Reason and Impartiality in Morality: A Slideshow presentation

Reason and impartiality are considered as minimum requirement for morality. Moral truths are truths of reason; that is, a moral judgment is true if it is espoused by better reasons than the alternatives. Genuine value judgments ought to be backed up by pertinent reasons.

Moral judgments must possess the quality of impartiality. Personal feelings or inclinations should be suppressed if necessary.

Contemporary author Scott B. Rae, Ph.D. proposes a 7-step model for making ethical decisions that uses reason and impartiality.
